We are so excited to celebrate our special day with loved ones coming from all over the world! To help make your travel plans easier, we've listed out some key information below.
You'll be flying into Mexico City's major airport - Aeropuerto Internacional Benito Juárez (MEX). The airport is about 30-40 minutes from the Sofitel and neighboring areas, depending on traffic. You can use Uber or Yellow Taxis to and from the airport. If you need help, reach out to one of us and we can help arrange a private pickup for you as well.
Canada and U.S. Citizens: No visa is required for stays up to 180 days. A valid passport is needed.
Indian Citizens: A visa is required unless you have a valid visa or residency for the U.S., Canada, Japan, U.K., or any Schengen country. If a visa is required, you can apply at the nearest Mexican consulate in India. Processing times vary, so it’s best to apply well in advance. Ensure your passport has at least six months of validity. If you hold a U.S., Canada, Schengen, or U.K. visa or residency, ensure it is valid for the entirety of your trip to Mexico.
Kenyan Citizens: A visa is required. E-visas can be applied for online.
Australian / German / U.K. / Singaporean Citizens: No visa is required for stays up to 180 days. A valid passport is needed.
For more details, or to confirm your requirements, visit the Mexican Immigration Website or reach out to us for help.
May is typically warm and dry in Mexico City, with average daytime temperatures around 24-27°C (75-81°F) and cooler evenings around 12-15°C (54-59°F). All of our events will be indoors so you don't need to account for rain!
The currency in Mexico is the Mexican Peso (MXN). While credit cards are almost universally accepted in Mexico City, consider bringing or taking out some Pesos (you'll need it for street tacos!). There are also plenty of ATMs, including in the airport, in the Sofitel and across the city.
The neighborhoods that you will be frequenting (Reforma, Juarez, Condesa, Roma), are considered to be very safe. You should feel safe walking around in the day and evenings. Beyond that, Mexico City is just like any other large city - be smart, be respectful, and be aware.
